Not sure how to get amongst all that Krakin goodness?

Here's some ideas to get your mouth watering...

THUNDER CAKES

We've stolen the classic Chelsea Sugar Cupcake recipe.. and added some Krakin goodness!! THESE ARE INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS, with just a nice amount of heat!

Either use this recipe, or buy a box of cupcake mix and add 2 Tbsp Blue Thunder to the batter mix, and 2 Tbsp Blue Thunder to the icing (or as much as you like!)

Cupcakes:
150g Butter, softened 
1 1/2 cups Caster Sugar
2 eggs 
2 1/2 cups Self Raising Flour 
1 1/4 cups Milk (less 2 Tbsp milk, which you will swap for Blue Thunder)
2 tsp vanilla essence 

Buttercream Icing:
100g Butter, softened 
1 1/2 cups Icing Sugar
2-3 drops vanilla essence
1-2 Tbsp Krakin Blue Thunder
Blueberries and Krakin Blue Thunder Sauce for drizzling on top!

Method: 

Cupcakes: Preheat oven to 190°C conventional or 170°C fan-forced. Beat Butter with an electric mixer until smooth, add Caster Sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and mix well. Add the sifted Self Raising Flour, Milk, KRAKIN BLUE THUNDER and vanilla, beat until smooth. Place paper baking cases in a cupcake tin, spoon in mixture until they are about 2/3 full (don't overfill or they will form peaks). This recipe makes 24 cupcakes so you might need to do this in two batches. Bake for 20 minutes until golden or until they spring back when lightly pressed. Turn out onto a wire rack to cool while you prepare the icing.

Buttercream Icing: Beat the Butter until it is pale and fluffy. Sift in the Icing Sugar, add vanilla essence and mix.  Add Hot Sauce until you have a light, fluffy mixture. Add a little more hot sauce or milk if you need a softer consistency. Spread or pipe icing over cupcakes and top with decorations as desired.

 

Dribbly Bib Chilli Con Carne

  • 500gm Premium Grassfed Mince
  • 1 tin of tomatoes
  • 1 tin of chilli beans or beans of choice
  • 1/4 cup Smokin' Donkey Sauce
  • 5 cloves NZ garlic        
  • 2 onions
  • 1 capsicum, sliced and diced
  • 1 peeled & grated carrot
  • Parsley, Oregano,
  • Salt
  • 2 tsp organic raw sugar
  • Method 

    Fry onion, garlic, capsicum and carrot in a pan with oil. Remove from heat and set aside.

    Cook mince, add beans and tomatoes and combine together well.  Add the cooked onion mix into the mince, and add Smokin' Donkey sauce, herbs, spices, salt and sugar.

    Simmer for 30 minutes until well cooked and flavours are all combined.

    Top with fresh parsley and fresh diced chilli of choice. Add a dollop of sour cream.

    Serving suggestions:

    • with corn chips and guacamole and fresh lime
    • on top of rice
    • with noodles

      Method: MIX

      Eat with your favourite Corn Chips or Spicy Wedges as your spoon! Or add to your fish, meats and breads as a condiment!

      Cook up eggs your favourite way and splash them with your favourite hot sauce! Too easy!

      Bitchin' Burger!

      Go catch some fish. Fillet that fish, crumb it and cook it... compile an amazing burger, add some sauce! EAT IT!  (OR buy a burger, add Krakin Sauce and EAT!)
